Sens lose to Comets at home

The Belleville Senators lost to the Utica Comets on Friday, February 21st. The Sens lost 6-3

The Belleville Sens were getting ready to put together another winning streak after they beat the Rochester Americans on Wednesday. The Comets were coming off a loss to the Americans on Sunday and didn’t want to get a losing streak going so they scored 6 minutes into the game. Seamus Malone got his 4th goal of the season. With less than 4 minutes left in the period, Joseph LaBate scored to tie the game at 1-1. He got his 9th goal of the season. 1 minute and 40 seconds later, Carter Camper collected his 8th goal of the season to give Utica a 2-1 lead.

35 seconds into the second period, Justin Bailey scored his 25 goal of the season to give Utica a 3-1 lead. 3 minutes after that goal, Rudolfs Balcers scored a short-handed goal after Formenton took a 5:00 major penalty for elbowing with 41 seconds left in the first period. He got his 15th goal of the season. 4 minutes after the Balcers goal, Bailey got his 2nd goal of the game to give the Comets a 4-2 lead. With 3:16 left in the 2nd, Darren Archibald scored his first goal since being traded to make it 4-3.

11:17 into the 3rd period, Kole Lind scored his 13th goal of the season to make the score 5-3. 13:43 into the 3rd, Sven Baertschi scored his 10th of the season to give Utica a 6-3 lead. The Sens were not able to catch up as they lost 6-3.

The shots on goal were 33-30 in favour of Belleville. Utica was 2\5 on the PP and Belleville was 0\2 on the PP.
