Sens beat the Monsters in Cleveland

The Belleville Senators are continuing to stack up points as they remain first in the Eastern Conference as they added an extra 2 points to their point total with a win over the Cleveland Monsters on Saturday. The final score was 4-1.

The Belleville Sens and the Cleveland Monsters had a clash on Friday where the Sens won 5-1. The Cleveland Monsters were really looking to beat the top team in their division. The Belleville Senators scored late in the first period short-handed as Filip Chlapik scored his 7th goal of the season to make it 1-0. Alex Formenton collected the assist.

With less than 5 minutes left in the second, Darren Archibald scored his 10th goal of the season to give Belleville a 2-0 lead. Vitaly Abramov and Filip Chlapik picked up the assists for Belleville.

The Belleville Sens scored 3:10 into the 3rd period as Parker Kelly picked up his 10th goal of the season. The assists came from Jordan Szwarz and Jonathan Aspirot. With 6 minutes left in the game Kole Sherwood scored his 10th goal of the season to make the score 3-1. Derek Barach and Adam Clendening picked up the assists. With 1:55 left in the game Alex Formenton scored on the power play to get his 26th of the year to give the Sens the 4-1 lead. The assists coming from Jordan Szwarz and Drake Batherson.

The Sens picked up another win as they remain top in the Eastern Conference and the North Division. They will play the Marlies in Belleville on Wednesday the 4th.
